Where WeSurf

At WeSurf we always try to select the best beach for our lessons. This is made challenging because the ocean is different everyday and the requirements of our students are different depending on their level. With this in mind we usually select from one of these three beaches:

Please note: We do not teach on reef breaks.

Tullan
Tullan Strand

Tullan Strand is the beach closest to Bundoran. It is a 5 minute drive or a 20 minutes walk from the town center. Tullan maximises any swell coming in due to waves reflecting off of the cliff. this is great for any swell up to around five feet with low tide producing the most hollow waves more suitable to short boards and high tide producing a more cruisy longboard/midlength wave.

Rossnowlgh
Rossnowlagh

Rossnowlagh beach is a fifteen minute drive from Bundoran. The waves are roughly a third smaller than Tullan and are far easier to read. This Beach really suits longer boards in the 4+ foot range. Rossnowlagh is a fantastic location for teaching our beginner/improvers and our advanced students can always have a lot of fun there if a longboard is your thing.

Streedagh
Streedagh

Streedagh beach is a twenty minute drive south of Bundoran. We rarely go here unless the waves are too big for other locations. This beach faces more northerly than the others and so the waves are significantly smaller. The spot can be very fickle but my best surfs there have been on a mid to high tide with a seven foot+ swell and southerly winds

Donegal Bay is blessed with many more very good waves. No matter if beachbreak, river estuary, point or reefbreak, slow rollers or fast barrels... You will definitely find waves that suit your style and level.

Out of respect for the local surf community we only teach on beaches and not on any of the reefs.

If you want to find out more about our other surfspots there are descriptions on Bundoran's local surfshop's website.
